VISUAL ANALYSIS
Visual analysis is a critical part of visual literacy, a skill
thathelps people read and critically interpret images, whetherin a
museum, on social media, in entertainment,advertising, or the
news.

Submission Requirement :
-Recap Task 2 brief
-Write a 300- to 350-word visual analysis of the selected design (refer to Visual Analysis lecture notes and guide).
-Include reference links where applicable.
Visual analysis is divided into 3 phases:
• Phase 1: Observation
Observation means closely looking at and identifying the
visual elements of a design, trying to describe them
carefully and accurately in your own words. Do not read
beforehand about the design at all.
The observation stage includes observing, thinking, and
using our own words to express the elements and ideas we see in
the picture.
• Phase 2: Analysis
Analysis is based on the observation results of our first step
and further describing the work through the observation
results.
Through the visual elements in the work, we analyze how the
author combines various elements and how to express the design
principles, and analyze how the author slowly guides our
eyes.
• Phase 3: Interpretation
In this final phase, your observations, description, and
analysis of the work are fused with facts about the design
work (and in some cases the designer) and historical
context that you find in trustworthy published sources.
We need to understand the profound meaning and meaning behind
this work.
2.Visual Analysis
Write a 300 to 350 word visual analysis of the selected
design (refer to Visual Analysis lecture notes and guide).

Phase 1 - Observation:
When we first look at the poster, we feel that it is gathering from the periphery of the poster to the middle. Finally, our eyes are focused on the main body of the poster, which is a polar bear trapped on the only piece of ice in the ocean. I also It is observed that the text forms a visual effect of large and small near and far. The overall color matching of the poster has a strong color contrast, contrast between cold and warm, and the colors are mainly blue and Red, the contrast will be strong. （98）
Phase 2 - Analysis:
This design is an asymmetrical balance design. The blue sky and the ocean each occupy half of the poster. The polar bear in the center of the poster is highlighted. Through color contrast, cold and warm contrast, it is also more in line with the theme of global warming. The warm ocean in the sky The warmth will be more in line with the theme. People's eyes will automatically focus on the polar bear through the direction of the clouds, the direction of the fonts, and the ripples on the ocean, The text and illustrations also apply the movement principle of our learning design principles to create a sense of hierarchy, which will emphasize the main body. The author is also very good at using font size to highlight the meaning he wants to express. Harmony is the consistency between the elements in the poster, and there are no isolated elements, which is more in line with the theme. （155）
Phase 3 - Interpretation:
This is Doaly’s global heritage poster series in partnership with
Coachella Music Festival on May 30, 2019, to address the world’s most
important issues, aiming to highlight the United Nations Goal 13 Climate
Action, with a visual direction biased towards the impact global warming
is giving our climate. Systems bring lasting change.
DOALY designer's works belong to the illustration style movie poster style.In his works, concept art is the key word, which is a design method that expresses ideas in the form of illustrations. Concept art is used in various designs, especially movie posters, which emphasize the concepts, ideas and concepts of the artwork. An art form that emphasizes the importance of ideas rather than just the visual or sensory effects of an artwork（121）

3.Feedback
week4
During this week's class, the teacher gave me feedback, saying that there were some layout problems in the blog, but there was no problem with the analysis of the work. In interpreting, I prefer the meaning behind the work. The teacher asked me to write the work in a style that conforms to it. I need to correct this. , other teachers looked at it and said there was no problem.
week5
The teacher took an overall look at my blog this week and focused on the third part, Interpretation. The teacher said that I could get more detailed insights into the original author’s works. The teacher provided me with an important keyword that allowed me to Learning more about and analyzing this aspect can be an important part of my Interpretation. The teacher also told me some requirements for Task 3. You can use PS, AI, or hand drawing. I also began to have ideas about my final assignment idea.
4.Reflections
I learned how to accurately analyze the design principles contained in design posters. This is also what I like. I don’t understand the design just by looking at a poster. Once I learn the design principles, I will analyze it. Every poster has it. Different theories, styles, it makes me feel very interesting.The teacher read my analysis of the third part and suggested better keywords for me, which allowed me to better understand and understand the art behind the work and analyze the principles of the work in depth.
