1.Tsak 3 brief

After analyzing the design of my choice in Task 2, we will now produce a work of design, inspired/influenced by the one you had analysed, or as a reaction to it. We should also apply your knowledge of design principles in your creation. Direct use of photographs is not permitted. Any work that is found plagiarized will result in an F grade for the overall module .

2.Sketches and work process

Sketches

Below is my sketch and simple mood board

fig1.1
The design concept of the first draft is about the melting of glaciers due to global warming, leaving marine life homeless. The reflection of the polar bear is a chimney, which reflects the causes of global warming. Ice blocks of different sizes are floating on the sea.

My initial idea was to create a contrast between warm and cold colors between the sky and the ocean. By emphasizing the design principles, I highlighted the polar bear in the middle of the picture. I would add text to the picture to form a flowing effect of near, large and far, and applied the movement in the design principles. In addition, the picture Layout follows symmetrical balance.

The design principles used in this image are color contrast, movement,Symmetrucal Balance,Emphasis

fig1.2
This design concept is that global warming caused by tree felling has made the whole world become dark clouds, through the contrast of the half and half design. The river through the middle separates the two sides, and the text is emphasized in the middle of the river.

This design uses the different living states of trees, half of which are lush trees, and half of which are trees rotten by acid rain, to form the principle of contrast, as well as the principle of proportion, emphasizing the text in the river and calling on everyone to pay attention to the issue of climate warming.

The design principles used in this image are contrast, proportion, emphasis.

fig1.3
What I want to express with this draft is the effect of rising sea levels due to climate warming, causing seawater to flood cities.

The design principles of this draft will be similar to the first draft, with color contrast. The coldness of the sea and the warmth of the sky well illustrate the issue of climate warming. This poster also has the design principle of Symmetrucal Balance , generally the sky is half the ocean. I will also use the principles of movement design and word and image design to design the effect of the text through the undulations of the waves. The most critical point of this draft is whether it can express the issue of sea level rise, including How to write words.

The design principles used in this image are color contrast, movement,Symmetrucal Balance, word and image.

Production process video

I chose Goal 13th of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal: "Climate Action". This is a project about urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts. People are calling to protect the earth. Due to various activities of people that harm the environment, the problem of climate warming has appeared in the world. Therefore, posters are designed to call people's attention to the problem of climate warming.

The poster I made achieve Color Contrast, it can be seems on the warm sky and the deep blue sea. I used the shape of the waves to form the fonts I wanted to express. This also applied the design principle of movement. The combination of words and images expressed what I wanted to appeal to people. 'Stop Climate Change's ' message is more precise and direct, focusing attention on the theme and it also demonstrating principle of similarity through the similarities of the various houses. The proportion of sky and sea reflect the principle of proportion.

My design describes the rise in sea levels due to climate warming, causing waves to submerge urban houses. There are world plates in the sky in my design, which I want to show that every country must pay attention to this global warming issue. We are all one, calling on everyone to protect the earth. 4. Feedback

week 6

After the teacher read my draft last week, he chose the theme of climate change caused by rising sea levels in the final draft. The teacher said that the expression of rising sea levels in my draft was not very clear, so that I could see the rising sea levels in the finished product. The teacher said that the key to this poster is whether it can express the rise of sea levels and the use of words.

week 7

The teacher gave me feedback this week. After seeing my finished product, he suggested that I draw richer cloud layers and draw more types of clouds. One of the houses was very blurry. The teacher suggested that I should re-perfect the house. The teacher also Tell me that there should be a detailed explanation of the design principles at the bottom of my draft to perfectly express what I want to describe.

5.Reflections

In this process, I learned how to apply the design principles I learned to my own works. I also learned about the 13th goal of the United Nations, which taught me a lot. I also learned how to design my own in the process of learning. When making a work, you should have the knowledge you have learned in your mind instead of designing randomly. Before designing, you should be clear about the design principles you want to express and have a concept in your mind.
