Task 3: Audio Storytell
Instruction
Project 3-Audio Storytell
Our project requires us to choose a fairy tale that we are familiar with
and make an audiobook. This task goes a step further than auditory imaging.
We not only need to find the right audio, but also do the narration and
dubbing to highlight and enhance the storytelling experience. Later, we will
add the story pictures to complete the final task three.
Before that, we did a small exercise in class. We needed to choose a short
story to dub. I chose the story of the honeymoon.
Honeymooners
When you plan your honeymoon, don't just book the first flight to Tahiti... surprise your beloved with an unforgettably romantic getaway to one of the great European capital cities. Experience the finest that Paris, Rome, Madrid, and Athens have to offer... adorn your memories with haute cuisine, signature hotels, distinct cultures, and breath- taking wonders found only in continental Europe. Treat your New wife / husband to an Old World romance. Start your married life off right by honeymooning in style across the pond.
Finally, submit it in the teacher's Google document

The final product
Next, I started to complete project three. The story I chose at first was
"How to Train Your Dragon", but most of the voices were boys, which was a
bit difficult for me. I finally chose "Sleeping Beauty", which is familiar
to everyone. I searched online for videos about this fairy tale and took
screenshots.
I use the built-in recording function in my phone to record one sentence at
a time. I think it will be more convenient to add sound effects later.I
recorded 39 sentences in total.
The most important thing is to reduce noise during dubbing, but there are
many plosive sounds when I am recording, such as the pronunciation of the
princess and the prince.I modulate the noise reduction and recovery in the
effect.

But in the tenth week, the teacher commented that my work still had some plosives. The teacher helped me eliminate the plosives again in class, but there were still loud sounds. So the teacher suggested that I re-record the sentences with plosives.

In the end, I amplified my voice and turned down the sound effects, and it sounded comfortable overall. Finally, editing of the visual effects and audio was done in Adobe Premiere Pro.I took photos from the video and added subtitles later
Video Editing
I arranged the audio and photos and controlled the duration,Since the
video I made was 6 minutes long, I edited it to 3 minutes and added the
story transition effect at the beginning.
The full story in six minutes

Feedback
This week, the teacher gave me feedback that it felt okay, but there were
still strong plosive sounds in the audio, which needed further
modification. He suggested that I re-record the sound clips and that the
environment needed to be quieter. He suggested that I cover myself with a
blanket so that the noise in the environment would be reduced.
Reflection
This project is very interesting and can bring people a victorious experience. I am very happy to do this project. Although my English is not very good, I am willing to practice the script more, experience the characters' emotions, and read them out with emotion. I also watched a lot of videos about picture book stories, because good audio elements can smoothly bring the audience into the story world and enhance the overall effect. The selection of sound effects and configured recordings can add realism to the story and resonate with the audience. Of course, one of the most inevitable problems in recording is noise reduction. I also learned more about noise reduction in the AU software. When post-processing the final video, we must also pay attention to the combination of sound and picture. Neither the picture nor the sound should be too fast or too slow. I also added transition effects in the later stage to make the final video look more complete. Overall, telling stories with audio is an experience I have never had before. In the process of looking for sound effects, I think it is very interesting to tell stories through my own imagination and references to leave an impression on the audience.
