Project 4-ABSTRACT MOTION
Students are to create an theme based abstract motion graphic video that consists of a good audio visual say it in 3D/2D, mix media or any experimental visual output that has strong theme.
We complete our final project with film aesthetics. I plan to spend 30 seconds to talk about a film. In class, the teacher gave us advice that we can use the existing film resources to create, which can save us a lot of time thinking about the topic.
Our core wants to show loneliness. Shao han and I chose the movie 《Her》，directed by Spike Jonze.
We began to search for information on the Internet and decided to use the clips of the movie to produce.
Because movies rely on narrative to convey ideas, after confirming the theme, we began to sort out the story line. We edited the story line in the slides.
Our title is 《I Thought You Were Here》
- Part 1｜He in the City (0–7 seconds)
He lives in a bustling city, expressing emotions for others but never being able to speak for himself.
- Part 2｜The Illusion of Connection (7–14 seconds)
He met an invisible "her". She listened to him, understood him, and made him feel seen for the first time.
- Part 3｜Self-dialogue (14–20 seconds)
Their communication was like talking to themselves in the mirror, but this response made him feel less lonely.
- Part 4｜Fragments of the truth (20–28 seconds)
He gradually discovered that this connection was not exclusive. He was not the only one, and she had never really belonged to anyone.
- Part 5｜Still moving forward (28–35 seconds)
He chose to let go and continued to move forward with the remaining warmth of his emotions. Still alone, but more real and softer

Reflection
This semester was very interesting, I could try different styles, meaningful or personal stories in order to connect with others. With this opportunity, I was able to fully express my ideas and listen to Mr. Fauzi's advice on how to actually complete the technical part. It taught me a lot about visual effects and the amazing features of After Effects. I think this knowledge is magical. Different effects can be produced through technology. This knowledge covers a wide range in daily life. The videos and animated images we see everywhere in life can be made in this way. Some videos look very simple to complete, but in fact they still take a long time to make. It is not easy to be a designer, but I think I will observe more in my future life, accumulate my own aesthetics, and learn more knowledge to design.
