Week 6
This is a tutorial video on how to professionally remove green screen in After Effects.
Green screen shooting tips
- Make sure the background is evenly green, with no obvious shadows or wrinkles.
- Keep the subject at a certain distance from the green screen to reduce reflections and color spillage
Adjust Keylight parameters
- Switch the View to Screen Matte and use the black and white image to see the quality of the mask.
- White indicates the retained area (character), and black indicates the removed area (background).
Eliminate green overflow
- Added Advanced Spill Suppressor
- Automatically detect and remove green halos around the edges of characters
Compositing and background fusion
Adjust the character layer's:
- Hue/Saturation/Contrast to make the style closer to the background.
- Position and scale, pay attention to the perspective relationship and the center of gravity of the picture.
This video teaches us how to make the characters blend
naturally into the new background, achieving a
professional-level effect that is "indistinguishable from
synthesis"

Project 2
The task was to explore and generate the ability of abstract channel
bumpers in any creative way, taking into account good audio rhythm and
visually compelling videos. This project requires us to make a channel
title to introduce/promote/advertise something. This title can be a real
channel or product. Shao Han and I became a team to carry out this
project. We discussed many topics and finally we chose to introduce
Adidas. Since Adidas
has a different production chain in Korea, the products we chose are
made in Korea.
At the beginning, we decided to introduce the Adidas brand in two main directions. One is the most basic minimalist style of Adidas, and the other is the street style. After we decided on the direction, we started to design the logo.
We started looking for references, mainly on Pinterest. Here are the
references we found and we plan to use them.
We started designing the logo with reference to these videos. We first
started drawing the storyboard, which was done by Shao Han.
Using the rotating entry animation effect, I think it is often used in
the opening performance of brand LOGO dynamic effects

Reflection
This project is where we can apply what we learned from the exercise and project 1 to our own ideas related to the channel/brand of our choice. I chose a brand I like to design a logo for. I got to try different effects in After Effects to get different visual styles. I also practiced how to adjust layers using only shapes, masks, and I thought this would be a good learning opportunity for me so that I could have a clearer direction on how to do my project.
